When Ken asked me to join him as his assistant on a photo shoot he was embarking on at The Farm, Staten Island I thought “this would be a fun day exploring a place I have never been. Maybe I can get a few action shots for my acting portfolio.” 

I never enjoyed having my photo taken. I always felt stiff and on the spot, not knowing what to do to relax. We took a couple of photos with my kali sticks, clothed but I didn’t feel comfortable trying to pose even though I knew Ken and felt comfortable with him.

As the day progressed and we were capturing some beautiful artistic nude photos of Terry surrounded by the gorgeous nature and run down buildings at The Farm I was encouraged to try and pose for some artistic nude photos of my own. I love being naked, feeling so free and comfortable in my skin but posing nude for photos was a whole other bag. But trusting Ken as a friend and an amazing photographer, along with the support and guidance from Terry on how to pose once I felt the fear and did it anyway the experience took on a life of its own.

What is so beautiful about these photos and the experience is the freedom I felt to be at one with my surroundings. To show the beauty of the human form among the beauty of nature. How the buildings were crumbling down and the trees, and plants were growing up around them. The natural state of the environment when man isn’t involved. We are a part of nature and it was so liberating and beautiful to be captured in this light. No shame, embarrassment, perversion or sexual intent. The naked human form in all its beauty blending in with the environment. The photos speak for themselves. They are stunning and show so much more than just a naked body. They truly are works of art.
